Rumuji Crisis: Youth President Demands Autopsy, Calls for Peace.

Rumuji Youth President, Comrade Emeka Igwe, has called for an autopsy to determine the cause of death of Paul Orduve, describing it as a step toward restoring peace and eradicating crime in the community.

Speaking to newsmen in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Comrade Igwe alleged that Inspector Anele Ogbu has continued to use Orduve’s death as a tool to cause division and destruction in Rumuji.

While commiserating with the deceased’s family, he urged residents to disregard what he called “deliberate misinformation” by Mr. Ogbu aimed at causing underdevelopment.

Comrade Igwe further accused Mr. Ogbu of mobilizing youths against community leaders, including the Paramount Ruler, an act which he said led to the destruction of vehicles and property, including the burning of the palace and a Lexus 470 SUV.

He dismissed allegations against himself, Promise Anyadike, Greenville management, and Emohua LGA Chairman Dr. Chidi Lloyd as false.

He restated the community’s commitment to peace and unity, noting that all legal measures would be taken to ensure criminal elements are handed over to security agencies.

He appealed to youths, elders, and stakeholders to reject violence, avoid inflammatory statements, and prioritize dialogue.

The Desperation Of Inspector Anele Ogbu And His Pending Arson Case Have Plunged Rumuji Community Into Turmoil

The attention of the peace-loving people of Rumuji Community has once again been drawn to the persistent actions and utterances of Inspector Anele Ogbu, whose conduct and actions continue to generate tension, misinformation, and division within our community. This press statement is issued to clarify events, correct false narratives, and call for calm and lawful conduct among all stakeholders.

It is often said that the cover of a plate cannot assume superiority over the plate itself. This analogy reflects the growing concern over the self-styled leadership of Inspector Anele Ogbu during his tenure as Caretaker Chairman of the Rumuji Youth Association which officially elapsed on 20th May, 2025. After completing the one-year period for which he was appointed, rather than step aside to allow for the emergence of a substantive leadership, his continued quest for power undermines that of the authority that appointed him and creates unnecessary tension within the community.

This situation prompted the intervention of the Emohua Local Government Council Chairman, Hon. Dr. Chidi Julius Lloyd, who, in the interest of restoring peace and order, proscribed the Anele Ogbu-led executive on 25th September, 2025 and this proscription was aired by major broadcast stations in Port Harcourt, rather than complying with this directive, Mr Anele Ogbu has resorted to insulting the Council Chairman on various social media platforms while openly disregarding constituted authorities in the community.

As soon as the announcement of the new Executive of the Rumuji Youth Body was announced by the Emolga Council Boss on the 29th day of October, 2025, Anele Ogbu reportedly mobilized a group of supporters to confront the new executives who were on a solidarity visit declaring that he will not live to see comrade Emeka Igwe serve as the substantive Youth President of the Rumuji Community.

The supporters of Anele Ogbu who mobilised for this heinous act includes Joy Welechi Megbo, Clement Wekpa, Chikordi Olulu, Chimele Okala, Longlife Ekeji, Collins Nyovele, Samuel Wori, King Ekeji, Chika Isaiah Wekpa, Wegbo Ovundah, Elechi Robinson, Ndubuisi Onu, Robinson Ovuochi, Nemenwo Okparike, Ahoada Ogwumike, Junior Ajor, Bright Umesi, Promise Nyeche, Chikordi Ekwueme, Joseph Tegwor ,Bigman Ochi, Saturday Apapi Igwe, late Paul Orduve, Homage David Umesi, Gift Harcourt, Akpenuchi CY Onu, Nenwela Okogbule, Joseph Tegwor and others, as they launched attack on comrade Emeka Igwe and six members of his team.

While this ensued, Anele Ogbu was heard shouting, “Chase them, chase them.” In the ensuing chaos, Ndubuisi Onu, also known as “Dulee,” reportedly broke a bottle while pursuing comrade Emeka Igwe and in the process, he mistakenly stabbed Paul Orduve, who was attempting to dive Emeka Igwe. Following the incident, comrade Emeka Igwe and the few remaining members of his team abruptly ended their solidarity tour and sought shelter for safety.

On sensing that they have mistakenly killed their own person the angry mob reportedly moved to the residence of Ohna Lambert Njoku for advice on retaliatory actions. It was further alleged that the group targeted the palace of the Paramount Ruler of Rumuji community and looted valuables, as they set both the palace and his Lexus 470 SUV ablaze as these actions are deeply condemnable and against the traditions and peace of Rumuji.

It will interest you to know that the immediate cause of the death of Paul Orduve, Anele Ogbu is also alleged to be the remote cause of his death, tracing it to the spiritual, traditional, and customary beliefs of Rumuji Community in particular and Odegnu Clan in general, based on the following

Anele allegedly directed Paul Orduve and others to carry two empty coffins from Rumuodogo Junction to the Greenville gate during their protest at Greenville LNG on the 17th February, 2025. Anele allegedly ordered Paul Orduve and a few others to take the coffins to the Rumuji Evil Forest (Ohiomini Rumuji), an act considered taboo with perceived death consequences.

Anele allegedly claimed that out of the ₦18,000,000.00 extorted from the former Emohua Local Government Area Chairman, Hon. David Emereji, ₦2,000,000.00 would be used to appease the gods of Rumuji and cleanse the land to avert death consequences, which was not done.

For transparency and justice regarding the death of late Paul Orduve, it has been suggested that an autopsy be conducted to determine the actual cause of the death vis-a-viz the bottle or knife. Questions have also been raised on the disappearance of funds raised in December 2025 for this purpose, and the refusal to make the autopsy report public gives credence to the fact that the funds actually went to a private pocket . it is important that facts, rather than speculation, guide public discourse.

Nevertheless allegations claiming that Greenville management or Mr. Joseph Oyadoyin bribed Inspector Anele Ogbu with the sum of One Hundred and Fifty Million Naira to halt the Rumuji electricity project are lies from the pit of hell Available records indicate that prior to Inspector Anele Ogbu’s appointment as caretaker chairman, Greenville had already invested over One Billion Naira and above in the Rumuji Electricity Project, with materials and infrastructure already deployed to the site. These claims therefore appear misleading and capable of undermining developmental efforts.

We therefore urge all parties to allow law enforcement agencies to carry out thorough investigations without interference. It is also important to note that the individual accused in connection with the death of Paul Orduve remains in police custody, and justice must follow due process.

The Rumuji Community has always been known for unity, respect for traditional authority, and peaceful coexistence. We therefore call on all youths, elders, and stakeholders to reject violence, avoid inflammatory statements, and prioritize dialogue. The peace and progress of our community must remain paramount.

Let us collectively uphold truth, justice, and reconciliation for the sake of present and future generations.

Let there be peace in Rumuji.

Signed:

Comr Hon Emeka Igwe led RYA Executives
