A Magistrate court sitting in Port Harcourt has remanded Deele AkpoBari,  for attempting to murder the leader of Conscience of Ogoni People, Chief Gani Topba


Recall that on the 12th of March 2024, Chief Gani Toba was reportedly ambushed on his way returning from his community (Zaakpo in Khana Local Government Area of Rivers State) to Port Harcourt and shot severally, leaving him half dead. 

Three individuals linked to the crime have since been on awaiting trial at the Port Harcourt Correctional Center following remand notice issued by a State high court before the arrest of Deele AkpoBari who is popularly called Bob Satan by detective attached to Anti Cultism unit of Rivers State police command.

Nexus media reports that when DEELE  Deele ApkoBari  A.K.A Bob Satan was brought before the magistrate court on a remand proceeding filed by the commissioner of Police, CP Mohammed Mustapha, the presiding Chief Magistrate, Rosemary Ibanibo declined jurisdiction to hear the case and did not allow the charge to be read or plea to be taken.

Chief Magistrate, Rosemary Ibanibo directed that the file be transmitted to the Department of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advise and adjourned till 12th of November, 2024 for proper arraignment and trial on the matter, bothering on attempted murder, cultism, possession of illegal firearms, amongst others.
