Bonny Kingdom in Rivers State has clarified that it's planned protest is an agitation against issues affecting her people.

The kingdom made this clarification in a statement made available by newsmen, signed by the Chairman of Bonny kingdom development committee, Amaopusenibo Amairigha Edward Hart and the secretary Dr. Victor I. Jumbo.

The statement in a reaction to radio publications in Rivers State by a segment of the Buoye Omuso Brown House distancing itself and Finima community from the planned protest by the Bonny Kingdom billed for Monday, January 13th 2025, said the protest is a kingdom wide affair involving all aspects of the kingdom.

It noted that the protest which would be made public during the protest are issues affecting the kingdom.

The statement read " That Finima commutis one of the several communities that make up Bonny Kingdom. In fact, historical records are clear athat during the slave trade, the then forest now know as Finima, was the holding area for slaves for King Fubara Perekule I, who were meant for export ".

" That Brown House is a creation of King Fubara Perekule, Omuso, it's first chief and head, who was redeemed from slavery by the king".

It emphasized that" Never has a kingdom wide protest by Kingdom resulted in a break down of law and order, in fact, the last one in 1999 engendered several of the benefits, that Finima is benefiting today.

The indigenes and residents of Finima are not isolated from the issues affecting every Bonny person whether indigent or resident and as such any attempt to disassociate Finima from any agitation in the interest of Bonny kingdom, which Finima is a part of is suspicious, mischievous and laced with ulteritmotives.

It called on security agencies to watch out for the deployment of hoodlums from that axis stressing that the said disclaimer as previously observed always serves as a prelude for the unleashitod violence on innocent unsuspecting members of the public.

They accused the group behind the disclaimer for using violence, adding that security agencies and relevant authorities in Nigeria are aware and that the protest is in compliance with relevant laws of the country.

They maintained that despite what they desecibed as "treacherous shenaningans tof divisive elements" who were induced with huge monetary sums by some multi nationals to frustrate the process, the protest will go on adding that it seeks to address issuess germane to the well being of Bonny people.
