Man Found Hanging Along Emohua-Ogbakiri Road in Suspected Suicide

Residents of Emohua Local Government Area were thrown into shock after a middle-aged man was found hanging from a tree along the Emohua - Ogbakiri Road in Rivers State.

The incident, which occurred near the roadside, drew the attention of passersby early in the day when the lifeless body was discovered suspended from a tree, with a black material reportedly covering the man’s face.

Eyewitnesses said the discovery prompted immediate alarm in the area. Although the police had not been alerted prior to the incident, personnel attached to the newly built police station along the Emohua-Kalabari Road responded swiftly after receiving information from a correspondent and concerned residents.

Security operatives arrived at the scene to assess the situation as curious onlookers gathered at a distance.

While preliminary indications point to suspected suicide, residents have expressed mixed reactions over the circumstances surrounding the death.

Some speculated that economic hardship and personal struggles may have driven the deceased to take his own life. Others, however, raised the possibility of foul play, suggesting he may have been killed elsewhere and his body staged at the scene to mislead investigators.
