Manchester United marked a victorious Old Trafford debut for their new manager, Ruben Amorim, by staging a comeback to defeat Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League.
The Red Devils, who had scored within 81 seconds in Amorim's first game at Ipswich, wasted even less time on this occasion, finding the net after just 48 seconds. A crucial mistake by Bodo/Glimt goalkeeper Nikita Haikin, who misjudged a clearance and allowed Rasmus Hojlund to intervene, set up Alejandro Garnacho for an easy opener.
Despite the strong start, United faced frustration as Bodo/Glimt responded with two goals in quick succession, turning the game around within the first 25 minutes. However, Hojlund brought relief to Amorim with a brilliant finish to level the score before halftime.
The decisive moment came early in the second half, as Hojlund connected with Manuel Ugarte’s cross to score the winning goal.
This result not only delighted Amorim but also improved United’s position in the Europa League standings, bolstering their chances of securing a top-eight finish and automatic progression to the last 16 in March.
