Governor Siminalayi Fubara has dissolved the Rivers State Executive Council, bringing the tenure of all commissioners and special advisers to an abrupt end.

The decision, announced on Thursday in a special government statement, takes immediate effect and directs affected officials to transfer responsibilities without delay.

According to the statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Onwuka Nzeshi, the governor has instructed all commissioners and special advisers to hand over to the permanent secretaries or the most senior officers in their respective ministries.

“His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, GSSRS, Governor of Rivers State, has dissolved the State Executive Council.”

The statement further noted: “His Excellency, the Governor, has therefore directed all Commissioners and Special Advisers to hand over to the Permanent Secretaries or the most Senior officers in their Ministries with immediate effect.”

While terminating the appointments, the governor acknowledged the contributions of the outgoing cabinet members, expressing gratitude for their service and wishing them well in their future endeavours.
