UNKNOWN GUNMEN SETS THREE LOCAL GOVERNMENT COUNCIL SECRETARIAT ABLAZE IN RIVERS STATE.

Following yesterday's swearing in by Governor Siminilayi Fubara and the recall of Nigerian Police Officers at various twenty three local government area of Rivers State.

Protests have broken out in all 23 LGAs from Pro Wike supporters to Pro Sim supporters.

The Immediate past executive chairmen of the twenty three local government areas of the state who are all loyal to FIT minister were allegedly seen barricading the various council Secretariat as they maintained that it is their position until proven otherwise. 

In a show of force and power, these men allegedly tried to stop the inauguration of critical LGA officials, however in some loval government like Obio/Akpor, despite sporadic shooting inauguration has been concluded. 

In Onegla; chairs were destroyed, fight ensued and Prince Isaac Emejuru has been able to break through the barricade. 

In Ikwerre local government area and Emohua, the Secretariat were set ablaze by unknown. 

In Rumuokoro traders were seen by NRM scampering for safety while some goods worth five hundred naira have been destroyed, it is yet unknown if anyone lost their lives. 

In Eleme local government, some part of the Secretariat offices have gone down in flames. 

At the time of filing this report, the police is yet to respond on the issue.
