PANDEF CALLS ON PRESIDENCY AND NDDC BOARD MEMBERS TO ENSURE TRANSPARENCY IN DEVELOPING OIL RICH REGION , NIGER DELTA.

The Pan Niger Delta Forum has called on the president Tinubu led administration and the newly appointed board members to ensure they work according to the objectives of developing the Niger Delta region.

The national publicity secretary of PANDEF Ken Robinson who made this known in an exclusive interview with Nexus Report Media correspondent SANDRA KENNETH reminded the governing body of the activities of the past board members, saying the NDDC was used as a conduit pipe to enrich politicians.

He claimed that the NDDC has over the years served as a reward center for politicians but advised the presidency to establish more policy that will ensure that the narrative is changed for the good of the people.

Dr. Robinson also lamented that one of the policies that affected the NDDC and development of the region is the constant changing of board members.

He blamed some of the inadequacies in the past eight years in the region on the frequent changes of board members, stating that it makes it difficult for the people to hold the commission accountable for their misdoings.

Robinson said “NDDC is an interventionist agency aimed at alleviating the sufferings of Niger delta region, but politicians over the years, misused the office and used it to enrich themselves, leaving the people to suffer.”

When asked about what he thinks about the appointment of politicians as board members, he maintained that leadership, especially of the board has to do with policies of the presidency, which he said most times is used to reward them.
