Wike Launches Majority FM in Port Harcourt to Amplify Tinubu’s 2027 Re-election Drive

Political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections gathered fresh momentum in the South-South as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, unveiled a new radio station aimed at boosting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid.

The station, Majority FM 89.5, is located within the office complex of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and is expected to function as a broadcast hub for political engagement, grassroots messaging and campaign coordination in the region.

Sources familiar with the initiative said the radio platform is designed to reach a broad audience across Rivers State and neighbouring areas, leveraging radio’s wide penetration to mobilise support for the Tinubu administration as preparations for a second-term campaign begin to take shape.

The development comes amid increasing political activities nationwide, with key actors aligning structures and communication channels well ahead of the 2027 polls. Analysts note that the establishment of Majority FM signals an early and strategic investment in media advocacy, particularly in the South-South, a region considered crucial in national electoral calculations.

Although formal campaigns are yet to commence, the presence of the station within the Renewed Hope Ambassadors’ office underscores its anticipated role in promoting the ideals and programmes associated with President Tinubu’s leadership.

With the launch of Majority FM 89.5, observers say the political landscape in Rivers State may witness intensified engagement as political stakeholders position themselves for the road to 2027.
