Victor Osimhen Hails Lookman’s CAF Triumph

Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has showered praise on his compatriot Ademola Lookman, who was crowned the 2024 CAF African Footballer of the Year. In a heartfelt message, Osimhen highlighted Lookman’s remarkable journey and unwavering determination that earned him the prestigious honor.

“He knows my thoughts on this,” Osimhen shared. “I’ve spoken to him in person and told him to enjoy this moment with his family. I know how hard he has worked, how much he’s struggled to get to where he is today. Being named African Footballer of the Year is overwhelming, but he truly deserves it.”

Osimhen, a past recipient of the award, emphasized the pride Lookman has brought to Nigeria and African football. “He has put us on the map again and given Nigerians bragging rights. His hard work and dedication have inspired us all. While the other nominees deserve recognition, for me, Ademola was always the clear favorite.
