Goldashe United Football Club Celebrates 40th Anniversary

Goldashe United Football Club marked its 40th anniversary on October 1, 2024, at Rivers State University, where the club was founded in 1984.

According to Club President Mark, the organization aims to promote networking, fitness, and community cohesion.

Over the years, Goldashe has contributed significantly to Rivers State University, sponsoring student union games, providing sporting equipment, maintaining facilities, and awarding outstanding graduating students in environmental sciences.

As part of its future plans, the club intends to join the Nigerian Premiership and establish a Football Academy for younger players. Additionally, President Mark announced plans to install solar-powered lighting in parts of the university.

The anniversary celebration was attended by notable figures, including the immediate past registrat of Rivers State University, Dr. Sydney Enyindah, the vice chancellor of the university Nlerum Okogbule, member Rivers State House of assembly and other government officials.

Enyindah who doubles as the chairman of the occasion and Patron expressed gratification to the leadership of the club for a measurable progress and success in re-modeling the facility for the welfare and comfort of those who will join Goldashe in the coming years.

Goldashe United Football Club's milestone anniversary highlights its enduring commitment to promoting sports development and community engagement in Rivers State University and beyond.

Prof. Nlerum Okuogbule the vice chancellor of the university opined that he is astonished at the pleasant surprise before him and solicits for the clubs support during the schools upcoming events.

The commissioner for transportation, Collins Onunwo who also graced the event with his presence was pleased at the commitment and accountability of the club. Pointing out that the seeds they planted has yield good fruits with benefits to him.

Nexus report media reports that dignitaries from different works of lives were present, there were cultural display. Including other football clubs like New Delta football club and Noble minds all stars.
