Antony Faces Uncertainty as Two More Women Step Forward with Accusations

Antony, the Manchester United footballer, is facing fresh allegations as two additional women have recently come forward with accusations against him.

The 23-year-old was excluded from Brazil's squad on Monday for the upcoming World Cup qualifying matches against Bolivia and Peru following abuse allegations made by his former girlfriend, Gabriela Cavallin.

On Thursday, two more women made public allegations against Antony in the Brazilian media. While United acknowledged the matter involving Cavallin with a statement on Monday, they have refrained from commenting on the latest accusations. Antony firmly denies any wrongdoing, and investigations are currently ongoing both in Brazil and Manchester.

Antony's legal team issued a written statement, affirming their cooperation with Brazilian authorities in the ongoing investigations and declaring that they will not provide further comments at this time.

In an interview broadcast on Brazilian TV station SBT TV on Friday, Antony once again refuted the allegations and expressed confidence that he would not be released by Manchester United. He stated, "It's something that has never crossed my mind. I know the truth, and it will come out. Manchester United is fully involved in the inquiry. They are monitoring it closely."

He continued, "I know the truth, so I'm certain that [my career ending] will not happen. I'm certain of this. I know the truth, and I know that this will not happen."

United has also been compelled to deny allegations suggesting that the club attempted to conceal Antony's alleged mistreatment of Cavallin, who voluntarily waived her right to anonymity.

According to court documents reviewed by ESPN, it is alleged that Antony contacted a United employee to assist after Cavallin sustained injuries in a Manchester hotel room. Further claims suggest that the club employee arranged for a private doctor to visit Cavallin to avoid a hospital visit, where inquiries about the injury's origin would likely arise.

Sources have informed ESPN that United considers it standard practice to arrange for club-affiliated doctors to visit players' partners and family members and vehemently refutes allegations of covering up Antony's actions.

In a statement, the club dismissed claims of a cover-up as "categorically false."

United has not confirmed or denied Antony's availability for upcoming matches. Their Premier League campaign resumes after the international break with a home game against Brighton on September 16.

Antony, the former Sao Paulo and Ajax winger, has continued to represent United despite Cavallin's initial accusations in June. Since arriving at Old Trafford in a £85m deal from Ajax in 2022, Antony has made four appearances this season.
